MSU has one of the largest alumni networks on LinkedIn.

STEP 4

WHAT CAN I DO WITH MY MAJOR?

This site helps to connect majors to careers. Learn about the typical career areas and the types of employers that hire people within each major, as well as strategies to make you a more marketable candidate. Click here to get started! 

O*NET

O*NET OnLine has detailed descriptions of the world of work for use by job seekers! You'll find example job descriptions, employment rate and projected growth of fields. Access O*Net. O*Net also offers an interest profile that helps you identify your interest and how they they relate to the world of work.

HANDSHAKE JOB ROLES

Log in to Handshake and select Career Paths from your home page, from there you can search roles your interested in exploring. You'll have access to job postings, top cities, average salary and list of your peers in those roles. 

CAREER CORNERSTONE

Career Cornerstone focuses on STEM careers. Explore over 185 degree fields and find out about education requirements, salaries, networking, degrees, and career planning resources.

VAULT

Visit VAULT to find out what it's really like to work within an industry, company, or profession, and how to position yourself to start, advance, or change your career.

CHOICES 360

Choices 360 is a self assessment designed to assist individuals in examining interests, work values and beliefs about work skills. You can use your results to search for information on careers, and create a career plan that can be saved to your online portfolio. To access Log in to Handshake and select Career Center > Resources. 

CANDID CAREER

Candid Career boasts thousands of informational videos on jobs, industry professionals, and related topics.

STEP 5

START YOUR JOB SEARCH

The final step is finding an internship or co-op that allows you to dive deep in the field/industry of interest.
